My almost-arrest, the wheels that rolled, and other short stories

My Almost-Arrest

I arrived home on Tuesday evening (7-24-07) like I do on most evenings – in my car.  One thing was different though, I could feel it as I turned off my engine.  I looked up at my front door, and sure enough, something was different, neon-green different.  It was a notice about there being a warrant out for my arrest if i didn’t pay my overdue parking fines!  Thankfully my name was not the one written in loopy red pen on the top of the notice, so I promptly called into the Honorable Judges offices the next day and explained how I have been living here for like more than a year and that dude listed on the notice hasn’t been here in all that time, or if he has then I sure hope they tell me about it because that is just freaky to be rooming with someone and not even knowing it!

The Wheels that Rolled

Don from work experienced this story first hand, so this is in his words… with much artistic license of course.  “I was outside getting something out of my car and saw something moving that didn’t seem like it should be moving, so I looked up, and lo and behold there was a set of wheels rolling down the road as nice as could be.”  I still don’t know how this happened, whether the wheels (a dualie like on the back of a tractor trailer – two wheels side by side) detached themselves from the axel of some unfortunate truck, or rolled off the bed of a truck they were being carried on.  It was funny though, seeing them sitting innocently by the side of the road, looking like they were pretending to not be out of place, and still attached to a vehicle.  Someone came and took them later…

Harry Potter!

I went to see harry potter last saturday with Laura.  It was a great movie, I need to get and read the last book now.

Sick!

I think I am getting a cold, so I am going to bed.  NOW.

very entertaining stories! just don’t get sick… i’m still getting over my nasty head-cold from rainy German thunderstorms and such.

let me know when you’ve read harry potter 7; i just finished it =) saw the movie “order of the pheonix” all auf deutsch. good thing i knew the story, because i didn’t understand most of the dialogue! i may have to go see it again in the english version. they’ve got the 3-d effects in an i-max theater on potsdamer platz…

one last comment (i’m turning out my own short stories here in response; just need your quote balloons for effect)… i liked the shot of mom and dad at mini golf. so typical, it felt like i was home! sorry to miss the traditional rounds at chincoteague this year.

Hahah Dahbo you were almost arrested!!! Actually I think you should have come up with a far more climactic (sp?) ending to that story…however I’ll excuse if you think you were getting sick!!!

Yay for camping next week!! We can talk about Harry Potter!!! (Because I’m assuming by this point you’re done!)
