I got the idea from Mel.  More specifically i got the idea from Mel talking about how someone else was doing this. The plan is to take a picture every single day of the year.  I thought it sounded like a great way to chronicle life, and also a way to force me to look at each day differently, as i will be trying to take diverse and interesting pictures.  I also have decided to not require that i take pictures everyday, but rather every couple of days.  I started last Thursday, and have taken one since, so i figure on 3-4 per week on average.

I have added a gallery link to these pictures on the sidebar (on the right).  Clicking it should take you to the gallery, otherwise you can head over to http://photos.dahmage.com and have a look around (also linked on the right).  As part of this whole thing, i am moving to a new photo gallery software, since the old software, while good, didn’t quite meet the requirements i am starting to through at it.  I haven’t moved over my old photos yet, since this is a test of sorts.  Annoyingly enough, the integration between wordpress (this blogging software) and Gallery2 (my new photo gallery software) isn’t quite perfect, and i spent at least an hour hacking the code to get the sidebar “picture of the day” to link back to the gallery correctly.  Hopefully they will fix this bug in the future.

Let me know what you think of my ‘day pictures’ as i take them.  And if need be i can enable comments on the photo gallery, but i don’t think that is necessary, at least not for the time being.
