There and Back Again

Went out to see Narnia tonight with the folks. I enjoyed it very much. it brought back alot of childhood memories. yet it did frustrate me a litle in some of how it was filmed, and in some things i felt they should have spent more screen time on, etc. but overall it made for a good night. I only have 3 days of work this week, yet I don’t feel like getting up early tomorrow! augh. I guess it won’t be so bad. I don’t feel stressed to get anyting done quickly at work right now anyways. The one big project I was working on I mostly wrapped up last week, there is still some stuff to be done on it, but not tomorrow. so i guess I’ll figure out what to work on when i get into the office. probably work on setting up some of the new demos so that we can awe and wow prospective customers

A very merry belated Christmas to everyone, even though it was far from a white christmas here in lancaster, it was still a good one, and I hope you find yourselves able to share in my good cheer.

That is what i ended up calling it last night, you know, christmas eve eve… Had a fun night last night. First i left work a whole 4 minutes early becuase i was so ready to leave then i got home.

Heh, but in reality what i did was a good bit of very efficient shopping, and then went out to ephrata with my cuz and some other friends. apparantly shady maple (large grocery store popular amoung the menonite and amish infested area) has been doing a midnight madness dinner on christmassteve for a while now? i thought it was odd. but anyway that is what i did. ate a second dinner at 11 pm. it was a nice time though. actually it is called midnight gladness now, since a few years ago someone committed suicide out in the parking lot at one of these things. yeah, i don’t know why she shared that.

Played a new game too, tri—- somehting or other. basically its a game where you always have three things that are tied together somehow, and you need to figure that one similar thing out. for example. Chicago, English, and Snooker –:> would give an answer of ‘pool and billiards’ Anyone else ever played this game? i thinks its been around since 93, but i had never heard of it. also got into some rather lengthy discusions about tollerance and whether other religions are ‘wrong’ etc etc. It is a good thing to think about occasionally. does the fact that you are right in your faith automatically make everyone else wrong? lots of people would agree with yes, and some would be quite vocal about it too. but i still believe quite strongly that the knowledge to know one thing is right is quite separate from the knowledge to know that something else is wrong. plus, its thinking like that that cuases some nasty conflicts… (i used quite three times in a row, euch!).

It really the week before christmas now isn’t it. every year i find myself equally suprised by the terrific speed of its approach. and every year i find myself at this time without even being anywhere near towards ready for it. especially on the getting things for others end of it. not that i think that it is an important end, i just get frustrated on how i run out of time to do cool things. i feel like i used to do cool things for people when i was a kid. must be my memory loss kicking in.

I am so excited for my two 4 day weekends in a row. its gonna be crazy! and i hope i get to spend some of that crazy time with some crazay people

December is more fun when it snows. and also it is getting warm again, that is very thankful. the past few mornings it has been getting colder and colder. it was like 0 degrees out at home weds morning when i left for work. frigid. at least my car has plenty of time to warm up on the way to work

Work is swell. i actually left early today (4 ish) since everyone else was cuz of the snow/sleet. it was fairly slippy on the way home i just say.

Stopped in at messiah the other day for a short lil few mins. hard to believe they are wrapping up another semester over there. its a whole dif way of thinking now that i am outta there.

Anywho. i think i’ll finish up some work that i didn’t finish due to the leaving early today. peace yall!

So it is sat eve now and i find myself thinking, I feel fairly untired and relaxed right now, maybe it would be a good time to do something. and by doing something i mean do one of those various things that i haven’t had honest time to work on since my unclutered summer. I think i may update my website for one, and maybe do some work on something else, durno though.

But to do this i need to clear off my desk downstairs or something, it just isn’t a nice place to get work done at right now… maybe i need a better chair too.

The new narnia movie is out. i need to find sometime to see it before christmas. my sisters both saw it last night i believe, when at a wedding rehersal which they both attended. so that left me out in the cold. literally. which reminds me, it snowed on fri. that may be more interesting to refer to.

I woke up on fri, looked out and saw the level of snow and told myself, i am going to bed. Laura coming in and saying that she didn’t have to go in to school because they canceled also helped my feelings. so with my alarm turned off i slept in till i woke up. which was around 9 or 10? forgetful me. I then decided to go in to work, since i needed to reinstall some stuff for a project I am working on and i couldn’t find the cd’s on thursday, so working at home wouldn’t work. the drive in was very fun, back roads around home were still covered with snow, and even the highways weren’t so hot. rt 30 and 283 were mostly cleared, but there were many cars off of the road, and a few accidents i drove past. one of the accidents was a result of people expecting clear roads, and then suddenly running into a patch of hiway still covered with packed and slippy snow. must be a result of pendot not having enough drivers this year. there was also a spot like that on 283, where suddenly the left lane was no longer plowed, and if you had been passing a truck at that spot you would have been in a nasty situation.

All said i like driving in snow, it is exhilarating. i like the slippy snow and ice. but not in the dark.
