There and Back Again

Heya, what is going on? I am enjoying watching some scrubs right now. Heh, its been a while since i saw season 1, but since I bought it on dvd, i thought this would be a great use of my time. And it has been. Nothing is better than sitting down and watching something for like an hour after work/dinner. Then my brain feels revitalized enough to go find the energy to do things like clean up the kitchen, and just interact with people in general.

Oh, and i watched serenity last night. its a new movie out that is based on the tv show firefly that got cancelled a while back. pretty good movie. i liked it:) so now i am outta here, laptop battery is dying.

From the time i left home till the time i got home, was 14 hours exactly. yes, 14 hours. today was a long day. woke up at 4:30am… I think that is all i need to say really. But yes it was mostly a good deay. the day spent at Berks didn’t drag much at all, and it was a new enough experience that i wasn’t really bored by it. it was kinda cool to be talking to people that work in Domestic Relations.

It reminded me alot of Office Space. you know, Bob and Bob, asking ppl about what they do, etc. That and Andy reminded me that ImageTech sounds alot like InnoTech. Seems his friends bug him about that alot. or at least occasionally. yeah. long day. I need to hang out with some people this weekend. I don’t expect it will be near as much fun as last weekend hanging with peter mike mel kim megan nate kate anna john etc etc etc etc etc. But I am lookin forward to it. I am also looking forward to a more normal day tomrrow. Get some good ole fashioned work done in the office. I have moved onto a new project, working on a way to redact images (basically provide the users with a way to permanently black out signatures and addresses etc on their stored images for privacys sake) and I have gotten far enough into starting it that it is fun, no longer trying to figure out how to start. If you know what i mean. full steam ahead!

Tomorrow is my first day out of the office! My boss came up to me at the end of work today and said i might as well tag along on a requirements gathering meeting with one of our clients tomorrow. I am glad I am kinda excited about it, because that will probably help to aleviate the boredom I will probably feel, but must never never show, as a result of getting up around 4ish in the morning, and being in meetings from 8am till 4:30 at least. But it is something new, and i am actually looking forward to it. Oh, and i have to wear my suit too.

Other news, stopped to get oil changed in my car, being the first time i haven’t done it myself. it was nice not to have to take time out of my evening to change oil. Instead I got to interact with the guy at Pep boys, and start reading a book while i was there. the book is called ‘blue like jazz’. It is a book my sis recomended to me. Let me see if i can give you a taste for it. I’ll give you the forward to the book.

I never liked jazz music because jazz music doesn’t resolve. But I was outside the Bagdad Theater in Portland one night when I saw a man playing the saxophone. I stood there for fifteen minutes, and he never opened his eyes.
After that I liked jazz music.
Sometimes you have to watch somebody love something before you can love it yourself. It is as if they are showing you the way.
I used to not like God becuase God didn’t resolve. But that was before any of this happened.

As you might guess, the book is about this guy and his experiences with/without God. or so i assume, since I have only just started it. anywho, quick to read, and he don’t mince words. my kind of guy… Anyway. i have an early morning, and want to watch one more episode of FireFly before i fall asleep. going to bed now would be no help as i am not tired yet…

So this weekend was homecoming at Messiah. Basically it was just a good time to get together with some of you guys (and girls) I hadn’t seen in what has felt like ages. It was great to feel like I had a chance to talk to almost all of you for a decent ammount of time. It was also great to eat pizza and ride my unicycles again!

I bought scrubs season 1 on dvd the other day… I had been avoiding buying it for a while but finally gave in on sunday night on the way back from messiah. Even though i have tons of tv eps recorded off of tv, I am realizing that i don’t wanna waste my time burning them to dvds which don’t always last (burnt ones that is) when i can buy a nice looking boxed set, and with the box sets most anyone can use them without me having to explain the ins and outs of video codecs. so yeah that is that. I need get the oil changed in my car i guess… 500+ miles a week puts it on there. oh, and i hope everyone from this weekend was able to get back onto their work waking up schedules without much hassle, I think i kinda felt it this morning.

HAHAHA, I have done it again. thankfully it wasn’t a harddrive making those attrocious noises. it was a fan. the reason it shut down the computer and made me htink it was a bad drive was becuase it happened to be the cpu fan. so being on the fritz, it let the cpu overheat and the system froze/restarted/i don’t know i was at work.

Anywho, grabbed a spare fan, forced it to fit, and after hardwiring it straight into one of the power supplies 12v lines (this fan didn’t have the nice motherboard connector) I seem to be up and running again. sweet, now i can watch Medium…
