Looks like somebodys got a cause of the mondays…

It must be monday again, all that rain all day, getting at home at 7 when its almost dark and still raining, and having the onset of a cold.

Besides the cold, i also got hit with 3 new projects today at work. the one I am fairly comforable with, but the other two are on Content Manager for iSeries, which i haven’t learned at all yet. so yay for that…

Well, I think i’ll crash early tonight (by 11 or so) and hope that i can shake of this sickness i am feeling. take care all you’s

lets just call this another entry and have it done with.

Man, this is just uncanny. this is about the third day in a row i have realized that it is going to be thursday on the next day, and I have been right each time! Now if that doesn’t make sense to you then you must not have spent enough time around me … ever. The sad thing is that if i think real hard, i can figure out how many days it has been so far in the week. But I only have tv to thank for that. (ie, well monday night i watched Arrested Development, and yesterday I watched Prison Break, and Tonight House, M.D., so yeah i guess this is weds) Arrested Development is one of the best sitcoms ever, out of the ones useing real people, not animation that is :)

I really do need to relocate closer to work soon, for two reasons. One is that leaving a few minutes later every day, and being starving on the way home from work, both add up to make me very inclined to speed. and (knock on wood now) even though i still am not worried about getting a ticket, at the rate i am going i will be breaking land speed records in under a few weeks time… crazy but true given the current rate of increase in my driving speed. I also would like to put those two hours back into my day. Time that i could put to good use doing the things I just haven’t felt like I have satisfactory time to do now. but i guess i should really plan on putting that time into sleeping in the future, because no matter how interesting the job, I should try getting more than 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night.

I have just finished reading over Megan’s xanga, and I must say I am glad she has gotten a better job now, but nonetheless those were some great stories about your new friends there… to bad i have no such stories about my job, or maybe that is a good thing. Today was probably one of the best days i have had at work so far, and i think that the rest of this week is going to be the same. I do not say the same about next week, because I honestly don’t know what next week will entail. Anyway, if i leave now, i can watch my nightly episode of star trek (beam me up, scottie!) and still get my 7 hours of sleep. which would be alot more than i have been getting of late. peace all!

Black Holes

Laura was telling me tonight of how when she was teaching part of her science lesson today, several of her kids were getting all excited about the idea of black holes, and just the vastness of the Galaxy over all. It took me back to when i was just a ‘lad’ myself, running around thinking everything was so great and that i was so great becuase black holes existed and i knew about them, or at least what they were called :) I remember quite fondly my physics class at LMH. it was sweet, the last class of the day, and only like 9 of us in that class, so we often got sidetracked into discussions about things along the lines of black holes, you know, the sorts of things that are fun to talk and theorize about, but which will not result in you getting homework or having to do labs. it was awesome. and i think Peter Brubaker would agree with me.

Today was pretty cool, it started out with me watching the season premiere of Arrested Development last night, and it was so aweome that it just had to make it into what I am gonna call today, even though it was yesterday… phooey. I did some actual work today (coding) and that was fun, also sat through a presentation/ conference call with IBM, and then later got a Call from someone at IBM welcoming me to their business partners website, or something basically like that. So all in all it was a good day, i am thinking of buying a house. and i am also thinking where did my day go! its practically 11 already!!!

The ins and outs of life

I have been at my new job for about two weeks now. Its funny to think it, the weeks fly by now just like they did during school, and i find i don’t have as much free time now either, just like school too (some of the time anyways!). But the real differences are that I feel worse when i try to keep staying up late like i am used to, and that it sure feels nice not to ever have to be stressed about getting work done late at night, at least not yet anyway. The other day two other guys stayed at the office till like 11pm getting some stuff done for a big project milestone.

I hope to be working on actual projects soon, I think it would make the days more varied and interesting. Today i finished up the last part of a 5 day training course for one of the products we work with, and i am about tired of sitting and listening to some guy talk for 8 hours! But i really do like the stuff I’ll be working with, at least so far, so that is a good thing, yes?

I want to watch the matrix this weekend…

Why does it feel so late?

Why does it feel so late when it is so early? I mean man, it isn’t even midnight yet… Today was just too busy of a day. wake up at 6 for my first official day at work, then an awesome frisbee game, have some fun playing around with wireless networks at mel’s, and now i need to read 40 more pages of stuff for work, pack clothes/technology/juggling? for this weekend at messiah and then do it all again in the morning. :)

But i will be glad when i no longer have this hour long commute. gas is rediculously high right now. 30 bucks to fill my car tonight, and only monday it was 20 bucks i think. sheesh. and then i was remembering the good ole days when this thing got a full tank for under 10 bucks. I say rediculous not because i don’t get the economics going on (speaking of, yeah its a disaster but it is still screwin with my wallet) but becuase I think its crazy to pay so much just to get transported from one place to another. when will we start living in star trek times?

Other than all this reselting of my life now that i am working (ImageTechSys in case you didnt’ know) i am also slowing trying to fix the problems on this site that peter so obliginly pointed out earlier. it feels like i have no time for this… blah. but the good thing is, i found out it wasn’t my fault it didn’t work. It works just fine on my developement webserver, but i should probably switch that back to a php4 version since that is what my hosted site uses, and I am guessing all these paranthesis problems have stemmed from some strange difference in how php5 and 4 work.
